Hailing from Onanole, MB, Carly Dow’s wildcrafted soul-folk blends dark and poignant writing with a raw, alluring voice. Weaving image-rich lyrics with strong songwriting on clawhammer banjo or guitar, Dow creates music that is magnetic and multi-layered, evoking comparisons to the likes of Gillian Welch, Amelia Curran and Abigail Washburn.
Singer-songwriter Kayla Luky lives in Grandview, Manitoba, a small farming community nestled between the Riding and Duck Mountains. This unique setting gives her country sound absolute authenticity, with songs soaked in alcohol, dirt and sorrow, honouring the roots of real country music.
MICAH ERENBERG BAND
Micah Erenberg is a diversely talented multi-instrumentalist, singer songwriter and frontman extraordinaire from Matlock, Manitoba. His music is charming, witty and authentic, and his full disclosure style of writing varies from poetically clever to gracefully heartbreaking. Backed by a dream team of Winnipeg musicians, they are adored for their honest lyricism, mesmerizing melodies, and distinctive musical arrangements.
With roots in small town Iowa, Greg Brown’s rich folk style is heavily influenced by his origins. His mother played electric guitar, his grandfather was a banjo player and his father was a holy roller preacher. Brown’s songwriting has been lauded by many, and his songs have been covered by Willie Nelson, Carlos Santana, Joan Baez, Mary Chapin Carpenter and more. At the personal request of Jeff Bridges, Brown also contributed songs for Bridges’ Oscar-Winning role in the film Crazy Heart. Ultimately, brown is a storyteller who moves his audiences with his warmth, humor and deeply human musical vision.
Named by Rolling Stone Magazine as one of the Top 20 Guitarists of All Time, Richard Thompson is also one of the world’s most critically acclaimed and prolific songwriters. He has received Lifetime Achievement Awards for Songwriting on both sides of the Atlantic – from the Americana Music Association in Nashville to Britain’s BBC Awards as well as the prestigious Ivor Novello. In 2011, Thompson received an OBE (Order of the British Empire) personally bestowed upon him by Queen Elizabeth II at Buckingham Palace. In the USA Thompson has been nominated at the Americanas for both “Artist of the Year” and “Song of the Year”. HIs recently released CD, Still was produced by Wilco’s Jeff Tweedy which reached #6 in the UK charts (just ahead of Taylor Swift)!
Thompson’s genre defying mastery of both acoustic and electric guitar along with dizzying energy and onstage wit continue to earn Richard Thompson massive new fans and a place as one of the most distinctive virtuosos in Folk Rock history.

From their Brandon, Manitoba beginnings in 2010, Sebastian Owl have strived for harmony-rich melodies, catchy choruses, meaningful lyrics and a no-holds barred energetic live show. Full up on an appetite of folk, rock, blues, and country, these small-town boys have big-time dreams and a lengthy catalogue of song & sound. The sky’s the limit for these birds.
Haiing from Manitoba’s Pembina Hills, Dwayne Dueck grew up in a musical family. With a vocal range that enables him to croon soft and sweet, as well as wail out a honky tonk standard, he is an accomplished guitarist and frontman in the deep traditions of true Country, Western, and Rockabilly.
Currently living in the wild west end of Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, Vince plays a mixed plate of straight up country songs to toe tappin’ two chord bluesy numbers to fictional tales brushed with a touch of humour (depending on your sense of humour). Let’s call it “Mashed Roots and Groovy”… good for ya.
NATION OF TWO
Nation of Two is a newly formed folk duo composed of Winnipeg’s Jessee Havey and Nathaniel Good of West Virginia. It’s a classic love story with a musical twist: a northern Prairie songbird and an authentic Appalachian boy meet in an historic coastal city, fall in love and cross borders together to build a life and take the stage.

Brandon singer – songwriter Katie MacDonald has been performing for as long as she can remember. With a unique sound and soulful voice, you’ll be humming her melodies long after a show. Her songwriting recognizes both the sorrow and beauty that life places upon us. As a thriving songwriter, MacDonald is certainly an artist you will want to keep your eyes on.
Joey Only lives in Wells British Columbia, 4000ft up where the Quesnel Highlands meet the Cariboo Mountains. He’s a social outlaw and a political radical, a mountain man, a goldminer, a father and a Canadiana folk music hero. Joey will give you a full throttle outlaw country show any day you want.
Fronted by savvy songwriter and true prairie gem Richard Inman, The Madtrappers are quickly becoming a staple of Manitoba’s folk and country scene. With the deadly combination of Inman’s butter-rich voice, exceptional lyricism, and band of all-star musicians, they are at once deeply familiar and bracingly fresh.
Bobby Dove is winning the hearts of music lovers across genres and generations with her sincere songwriting and powerful, unvarnished voice. Born in Montreal, Bobby planted her country roots picking acoustic guitar and mandolin at the legendary Wheel Club, where she found a musical mentor in the resident lap steel player Bobby Hill.
Fronted by husband & wife Keri & Devin Latimer and named for a small Manitoba town, Leaf Rapids was born out of their popular indie-folk band, Nathan. Their music resembles the Canadian grasslands, as beautiful as they are harsh, taking notes from Canada’s soft tones and tough seasons, and sometimes incorporating the incredible sounds of the theramin.
Relentless Nova Scotian road warrior songwriter and multi-instrumental sideman Kev Corbett perfectly marries the classic fingerstyle storytelling Folk upon which he cut his teeth and excels at, with a quest for groove, a sense of space, and tone. A classic Boy Scout who knows how to rock, and tell a heck of a story around the fire.
